Wednesday 11th February, 09:57 AM JST

TOKYO —
A junior high school boy admitted to police that his claim a man had attacked him with a knife was a lie and that he had inflicted the injury himself, police said Tuesday.
Police said the boy ran back into his junior high school in Ota Ward at about 4 p.m. Tuesday and told staff that a man he didn’t know had cut him with a knife. On receiving a call from the school, police rushed to the scene and searched surrounding areas looking for the assailant, but the boy later admitted that he had in fact cut himself with the knife and made the story up to get attention.

What do you feel about this story?

Do you see students at school who do things just to get attention? Give several examples.

Have you ever done something bad just to get attention? If you can tell us, what?
